Environment
The scientific definition of the environment would include the complex of physical, chemical, and biological factors in which a living organism or community exists.
Talking meaningfully about the environment is complicated by its use as a term in the general domain to describe the effects of human actions on the natural world.
This can include any physical conditions that will be affected by a proposed action, including land, air, water, minerals, flora, fauna, noise, even archaeological, historic or aesthetic conditions.
A key part of environmental work is measuring changes in natural conditions. Scientists use a variety of instruments to keep track of changes in natural conditions, including:
Anemometer - To measure wind speed.
Barograph - To keep a record of atmospheric pressure, traditionally on a paper drum
Barometer - to measure atmospheric pressure
Hygrometer - to measure humidity
